"The Crossing" :: Design Concepts

"The Crossing" is a group at Southern Methodist University associated with Campus Crusade for Christ. Their mission is to reach out to campus and offer a place to fellowship and worship with one another.

The samples on the left are the 3 concepts I took to the committee at SMU. The inspiration for all three was their slogan, "Where truth and life converge." The bold blue and green symbolically represent water and earth. The blue of water represents the purity of truth, while the green of earth represents life. The pairing and juxtaposition of these two colors expresses the mission of "The Crossing" to bring truth and life together for individuals on campus.

I scanned this sketch and applied color correction techniques in Photoshop to go from a rough sketch to a smooth logo.

SMU Panhellenic Council :: Design Concepts

These designs were in keeping with the tradition of Greek life on campus. Created for the Panhellenic Council at Southern Methodist University, these logos are to be used on letterhead, business cards, other printed materials, and possibly t-shirts.

These three concepts utilize the school colors, and the middle one also uses the school mascot, the mustang. Included in the two circular designs are the house letters for each sorority represented in the Panhellenic Council.

Ultimately, the bottom logo was chosen, but the top logo is also used on items where less space is available.
